Painters in Fall River, MA

A Fall River painting company, not just one that drives through

Tiago and Alex run Furty Painting out of Fall River, with our crew and Charlie, our shop dog. When you call, you’re talking to the people who will be standing in your driveway, not a call center two states away.

Being based here matters on the practical stuff. We know how steep some of these streets are, how tight the side yards get between triple-deckers, and how the wind comes up the hill off Mount Hope Bay. We plan the ladders, the staging and the schedule around that before we ever open a can.

ZIP codes we serve here: 02720, 02721, 02723, 02724 · Bristol County

What we paint in Fall River

Painting services for Fall River homes

Exterior painting in Fall River

From a three-story triple-decker with stacked porches to a Highlands Victorian with layers of trim, we lay out access, prep every surface, and paint it to last through Fall River winters. Rotted clapboards and trim get repaired by the same crew before the paint goes on.

Interior painting in Fall River

Fall River interiors often mean plaster walls, tall ceilings, and decades of paint on the original woodwork, and we take the time to patch and prep it right. We also work around tenants in multi-family buildings so one apartment can be done without turning the whole house upside down.

Cabinet painting in Fall River

Plenty of Fall River kitchens have solid wood cabinets that just look tired, and refinishing them is a lot less money and mess than tearing them out. We clean, degloss, prime and finish them for a hard, smooth surface, and winter is a great time to get it done.

Deck & fence staining in Fall River

Back decks and porch floors here take a beating from wet springs and icy winters. We clean, prep and stain decks and fences so the wood is protected, and fix loose or rotted boards along the way.

Know the house

What Fall River homes need from a paint job

A lot of Fall River was built fast, for the mills. The triple-deckers in neighborhoods like the Flint, Corky Row and the South End went up for mill families, and many of them still have their original wood under later siding, plus three stacked porches front and back. Up in the Highlands the mill owners built big Victorian, Queen Anne and Colonial Revival houses with deep trim, turned porch posts and plenty of detail. Farther out, you get the capes, ranches and splits that filled in after the war. Each one is a different job, and we price and plan them that way.

The weather here is hard on paint. West-facing walls take salt air and wind off the bay and the Taunton River, and homes near the Watuppa Ponds see more moisture and mildew. Tall triple-decker walls bake on the south side and stay damp on the north. That is why prep is most of the job: we scrape loose paint, sand edges smooth, spot-prime bare wood, and caulk open joints so water stays out. On older porches we look hard at rails, floor boards and post bases, and our crew replaces rotted trim and clapboards as part of the same job instead of painting over the problem.

Painting a triple-decker or a multi-family? Here’s how we handle it

If you own a two- or three-family in Fall River, you probably have tenants living there while we work. At the estimate we’ll walk every side of the building, look at the porches and how we’ll reach the third floor, and talk through how we’ll keep entrances open and keep tenants informed. Many of these buildings have been painted many times over the last century, so we’ll also talk through the older paint layers and what they mean for prep before you get a price.

Frequently asked questions

Painting in Fall River: your questions

Do you paint triple-deckers and multi-family homes in Fall River?

Yes. Tall walls, stacked porches and tight side yards are normal work for us in Fall River. We’ll walk the whole building at the estimate, explain how we’ll access each side, and plan around your tenants.

Do you work on the older Victorian homes in the Highlands?

Yes. Those houses have a lot of trim, detail and old paint, so prep takes real time and we’ll be upfront about that. If we find rotted trim or clapboards, our crew can repair them as part of the job.

How soon can you start an exterior job in Fall River?

Exterior season here runs roughly mid-March to mid-October, and spots fill up as spring goes on. Calling in winter or early spring gives you the best choice of dates. Interiors and cabinets can be scheduled any time of year.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Furty Painting is licensed and insured in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We’re happy to provide proof before work starts.

How do your estimates work?

Estimates are free and done in your home. We look at the surfaces, ask what you want, and then give you a written scope, timeline and price so you know exactly what you’re getting. Call (401) 424-6900 to set one up.
